  21. A Brief History of the Skokie American Legion Post 320 and Addendum
    This history and addendum covers the organization of the association, the election of the first officers, the installation of the unit, the location of meetings and who some of the members were. The first president was police officer Ronald Bowman. The legions many activities are discussed. Some of the activities include: aiding families in need and finding employment for veterans during the Great Depression; running the 4th of July Fireworks in Oakton Park, forming the American Defenders Council and participating in Christmas gift drives. The National Champion Drum and Bugle Corps are also mentioned.

    Invoice written to Peter Blameuser from A. Kutz of A. Kutz Plumbing and Heating located at 7919 Lincoln Avenue in Niles Center, Illinois, dated July 1, 1907. Invoice reads: "To A. Kutz, Dr., Plumbing and Gas Fitting. Steam and Hot Water Heating. Telephone 224 Morton Grove. Capitol Boilers and Radiators." The invoice is illustrated with a drawing of a furnace. This invoice is part of the collection of the Skokie Historical Society.

    Abstract of Title from Chicago Title & Trust Co. on most of Section 22 and Section 28 of Niles Township. The Abstract of Title is of The south 10 acres of the north 35 1/2 acres of the north west quarter of the north east quarter of Section 22, T. 41 N., R. 13, E. of the 3rd P.M., in Cook County, Illinois. Section 22 is located north of Oakton St. and east of Niles Center Rd. Niles Center Rd. runs through the center of Section 28, which is south of Oakton St.

  28. Adam Harrer Residence Photograph, circa 1900
    Photograph of the Adam Harrer residence located on Oakton Street just west of Park Street in Niles Center, Illinois in the 1900s. On April 17, 1888 Adam Harrer was elected the first President of the Board of Trustees of Niles Center, Illinois, making him the first mayor of Skokie, Illinois. He served as President of the Board of Trustees until 1890. Handwriting on the photograph reads: A Harrers [sic] residence Niles Center Ill. This photograph is part of the collection of the Skokie Historical Society.

    Advertisement for Meadow Lane Garden Apartments. The advertisement includes photograph and description of apartments and surrounding conveniences and benefits, such as golf clubs, rapid transit system, Cook County Forest Preserves and the Chicago North Western Railway. The advertisement is from the August 22, 1929, Art Gravure Section in the Niles Center Section (page 3) of The Lincolnite. The Meadow Lane Garden Apartments are located in Devonshire Manor, which is North of Dempster St. and East of Skokie Blvd. The apartment building was built by Krenn and Dato.
