[annotation on back of the photograph] This was the year that Wilmette annexed out to the west railroad tracks that appear in the center of the photograph. The street running toward the lake at the left hand side of the photo is Wilmette Avenue. Note the grade crossing over the railroad tracks. At this time there were two. C&NW [Chicago and Northwestern] and the North Shore Line had just built the Skokie Valley route, which is the one plainly visible. The Northwestern's tracks are just to the west. The other road starting at the lower right hand corner is Glenview Road. Note, west of the railroad tracks, subdividers have put in sidewalks, but there are not any houses built.
