Molded porcelain with white base glaze. The inside of the rim has a pastel green glaze. Around the outer edge, a band of painted gold highlights the slightly scalloped design of the piece. The inner edge of the rim has a thin brown band. Around the inner circle are painted the words: Never was so much owed by so many to so few. Silkscreened in brown PARAGON / BY APPOINTMENT / TO / H.M. THE QUEEN & H.M. QUEEN MARY/ FINE CHINA / ENGLAND / REG D. / Patriotic Series / Produced during / War of Britain. Beneath the word PARAGON, two coats of arms separated by a line with arrows pointing up and down. In red paint on the right side, three dots in a triangle, and the number S1614 (or S1114).
