A short biography accompianies this photograph in the yearbook. It reads as follows: Sabra Louise Sargent is of New England parentage, as her ancestors came to Massachusetts in 1630. She was born in Jasper, western New York, and was graduated from the Normal Course of Alfred University in 1876. After teaching ten years in Hornellsville, N.Y., she resigned the position of preceptress in Hornellsville Academy and became Superintendent of Public Schools in Highland Park, Ills (sic). After five years of the most succesful work, she accepted the position of preceptress at Ferry Hall. Miss Sargent has already won the respect and confidence of the girls, and under her wise management the course of study has been extended, and the standard of the school raised.
