Herman Redeker is shown at the Boeger Farm in Schaumburg, Illinois, which is now (2011) part of the Spring Valley Nature Sanctuary. Herman F. Redeker was born on April 13, 1898, to Friedrich Redeker Jr. and Wilhelmina (Mina) Boeger Redeker. He had two siblings: John and Eleanore. He worked with his father in the Redeker General Store until 1913, when the store was sold. Herman also worked in real estate, owning the Redeker Investment Company at 114 North Dunton Avenue and Redeker Real Estate in the Vail-Davis Building, at the corner of Vail Avenue and Davis Street, a project of the Vail-Davis Corporation, of which Herman was a co-partner. At one point Herman was also an auctioneer in Arlington Heights. Herman married Laura Bartels on August 15, 1918, and they had two children, Norman and Harold. Later, with Jacqualynn M. (Collins) Redeker, he had two children: Quinn Redeker and Dawn Lines. Herman died on October 16, 1985.
