Student named: Kelly Grotts was nominated and selected as the January Student of the Month at Graham Hospital School of Nursing. She is a senior who resides with her parents, Sam and Agnes Grotts of Pana. She has three sisters and one brother. Kelly was chosen for scholarly achievements and school involvement. She has maintained an above average grade point and has held the offices of freshman class treasurer, junior class treasurer, vice president of S.N.A.G. (Student Nurses Association of Graham) and is currently, the treasurer of S.N.A.G. Prior to nursing school, she worked as an aide at the Barry Care center during the summer while completing high school. She graduated in May, 1984, and entered Graham in the fall. When reflecting on her past 2 ½ years there, Kelly stated, “Graham has given me the skills and knowledge required to be a good nurse. I feel that the individualized help I receive is very beneficial.” After graduation, Kelly would like to work at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield in their Neonatal Intensive Care Unit or nursery. Eventually, she would like to return to school to obtain a bachelor of nursing degree.
