Celebration of life to be presented: At 2 p.m. Saturday, September 24, Graham Hospital Home Health and Hospice will be holding a “Celebration of life” ceremony at Wallace Park for the families who lost a loved one between August 2010 and July 2011, who were patients of Graham Hospital Hospice. Each family member attending will receive a butterfly to release at the service and a candle to take home and light at a later time. The name of each and every loved one who passed away during the last year will be announced at the service. Cake, punch, coffee and water will be served. Families are urged to come share your memories with others who have that special someone’s life to celebrate, as well. For additional information, contact Graham Hospital Home Health and Hospice by calling: (309) 647-4088. Cindi Hueser, Home Health and Hospice Director at Graham Hospital, states, “What is unique about being part of the hospice team is the opportunity to walk with someone through the last journey of their life, to listen to their stories, hold their hand, and to help them identify what is most important to them and their families. Many people have asked if this is a ‘terribly sad and difficult job’ …my response is that I find it an amazing privilege. It is an honor and a blessing to do my part in helping to support our wonderful hospice staff, volunteers, patients and their families. I feel fortunate to be included with this great, and much needed organization, and look forward to the future.” For additional information about the Celebration of Life ceremony or Graham Hospital Home Health & Hospice, call: (309) 647-4088.
