Ruth Mace: Ruth D. Mace, 81, of Canton, died at 1:15 p.m. on Thursday (September 8, 2011) at her residence. She was born on July 23, 1930, in Princeville to Lester and Ethel (Russell) Gruner. She married B. Frank “Kayo” Mace in Lombard on November 11, 1955. He preceded her in death on January 17, 2000. Survivors include two sons, Steven (Terry) Mace of Bloomington and Curtis (Monica) Mace of Carmel, Ind., step-son, William (Carol) Mace of Calif.; three grandchildren, Christopher, Michael and Austin; sister, Phyllis Wallace of Wataga; and a special niece, Terri Wallace. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and a step-daughter, Nancy Bitner. Ruth worked as a Dietician at Graham Hospital retiring after 30 years and was a instructor at the Graham School of Nursing. She later worked at the Canton Country Club. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton, where visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. on Monday. Rev. Kevin VanTine will officiate.
