Graham holds Career Day: Graham Hospital Association School of Nursing held their Career Day Friday. The purpose of the open house was to let area people know what the school is teaching and offer an opportunity for those who might be interested in a career in nursing to look over the facilities that Graham Hospital School has. Judy Simmons, Director of Admissions, said they are interested in high school graduates and she has contacted most of the counseling offices at area schools. She said the real push in recruiting this year was going to be aimed at the middle aged woman who wants to start a career after her children have grown. There is a very real source of untapped talent. They are also interested in male nurses. The need in that area is very great and few men think of nursing as a career. The nursing school is a three year program which covers all phases of nursing including nutrition, medical-surgical and nursing leadership. They also look at specialty areas such as physical mental health nursing and pediatrics. The school is a three year R.M. degree program. Simmons also pointed out that any L.P.N. can enter their program to work towards an R.N.
