Etcheson named to state hospital post: Peoria: Graham Hospital Administrator Kenneth Etcheson was named president-elect of the Illinois Hospital Association Friday during the association’s 48th annual meeting at the Hotel Pere Marquette. Etcheson who just completed a five-year term on the Illinois Hospital Association board of trustees is currently serving as chairman of the IHA’s Cooperative Illinois Shared Computer Organization. He has also served on the IHA committee on nursing and the sub-committee on nursing and the sub-committee on safety of the IHA-Chicago Hospital Council insurance committee. A member of the American College of Hospital Administrators, Etcheson has been at Graham Hospital since 1959. Prior to that he held positions at Cedar Rapids and Iowa City. Before entering the field of hospital administration, Etcheson served in the US. Navy from 1942-51. Locally, Etcheson serves on the board of directors of the Canton Association of Commerce and is a past president of the Canton Rotary Club. He has also been active as a division chairman for the Community Chest and division chairman for the YMCA building fund. More than 1,000 persons from the hospital field in Illinois attended the two-day meeting to discuss how to initiate change from within the health care system to meet the rapidly growing demand for health services.
