Graham Clinic to debut at Nov. 1 grand opening: After almost two years of work, local residents will be able to take advantage of a new medical facility in downtown Canton. The new Graham Medical Group building plans to hold its official Grand Opening on Nov. 1. Open houses for the facility will be held Oct. 26, 27, 28, according to interim administrator Carolyn Jacobus. The facility will be closed the weekend before the grand opening. Each of the floors offers different services, with the first floor housing orthopedic care and urology, as well as the clinic’s 24 hour, seven days a week convenient care. Second and third floors will house primary care physicians, while the fourth floor will offer surgery and OB services as well as the board room. The first floor will also include Blessman’s Pharmacy, which will feature a drive-in window, and a bistro. The new facility will offer many conveniences for patients and staff. The windows are designed to let in more natural light, and there are separate waiting areas for patients who are ill and those who are not but waiting for tests or appointments. The restrooms are also multi-use rather than single-use. In addition, there will be more privacy for patients checking in or preparing for tests. One new feature in the X-ray room is that the procedure is now over-head and digital, which will allow physicians to consult results on computer without waiting for photos. This should save a great deal of time and money, according to President and CEO Robert Sennett. Parking for staff will be in the back, with parking for patients in front. The drop-off area will be able to handle three vehicles at a time, and there will also be assisted parking. The new building measures around 68,000 square feet. Total cost for the facility is around $16 million, which includes property acquisition and site work. Senneff noted completion of the building was originally set for May or June, but because of the rain work on the parking lot the work was not able to be finished. “That slowed us down a bit.” Said Senneff. “There is still some minor work to b done, but the construction will be 99.9 percent complete by Nov. 1.” Construction is now set to begin this fall on a new smaller facility in Farmington. The old Coleman Clinic building is also scheduled to be remodeled and offered as office space to other businesses, and some Graham Medical Group services will still be housed there, such as accounting and billing. “The future is exciting,” said Jacobus. “We can provide our patients with convenience and new technology.” “This new facility will be a great benefit to physician recruiting,” added Senneff, “Physicians will be proud to be part of this, as will our staff and our patients.”
