The donation represents a combination of hospital Gift Shop proceeds and all the group’s fundraising events held last year.
Hospital Service League makes annual donation, recognizes its members: Graham Hospital Service League President Gloria Pschirrer presented a check for $42,000 to hospital President Bob Senneff during the service group’s Annual Awards Dinner held Tuesday, May 4, at Wallace Park. The donation represented a combination of hospital Gift Shop proceeds and all the group’s fundraising events held last year. A total of 118 active volunteers donated 12,517 hours to the hospital in 2009. Graham Health System appreciates this additional support and many hours the volunteers donate to benefit the community hospital, a press release said.
Service League members receiving hourly recognition pins this year for their volunteer service included: Steve Wagner, over 5,000 hours; Peggy Yerbic, over 3,500 hours; Anne Henderson, over 3,000 hours; Gilbert Krock, over 2,500 hours; Shirley Carroll, over 2,000 hours; Gertrude Grafelman, over 2,000 hours; Isabel Vahle, over 2,000 hours. Also, the following were each recognized for over 1,000 hours of volunteer service: Sue Blessman, Eloise Mitchell, Larry Snowden; for over 500 hours: Harriett Bertetto, John Douglass, Claudia Emmerson, Jerry Fillingham, Peggy Harris, David Langen, Paula Langen, Sara Putman; and for over 100 hours: Carolene Banks, Sherry Beam, Barb Brown, Lois Bull, Kathy Edwards, Cindy Hall, Dennis Hurst, Betty Kost, Kathy Myers, Lila Williams.
