Reflections on Veteran’s Military Service:
Started boot camp January 1979 in San Diego, CA. Attended Engineer school at Naval Station Great Lakes, IL and Basic Submarine School in Groton, CT. Assigned to the USS Darter (SS-576) homeported in Sasebo, Japan. Performed duties as an engine mechanic and a ships diver. Was commissioned as an Ensign in 1986. Attended Navy Flight School and assigned as a Naval Flight Officer to VQ-1, Agana, Guam flying in the EP-3 surveillance plane. Performed various jobs with the Navy Reserve deploying to areas such as Iceland, Panama, Sicily, Puerto Rico. Most recently deployed to Iraq with an Army Civil Affairs Unit.
