Who are the Hellcats?
A long time ago Hellcats once roamed the plains and hills of central Taylor County. "Hellcats" were not some wild animal but it was the official nickname given to the 12th Armored Divison of the US Army that served our country during World War II. The men of the 12th Armored, before going overseas to fight in Europe and the Pacific, trained at Camp Barkeley near a small West Texas Cattle Town called Abilene. This is where their museum now lies and where their full story is told....
