This one-night class will cover the how’s and why’s of vehicle computer reprogramming/
flashing. The need to program modules on vehicles is growing everyday. Learn what modules
can be programmed and how the different manufacturers are using this technology. The Big 3
domestic manufacturers’ procedures for flashing will be shown. Both factory supported J2534
and “generic” programming tools will be covered. This class will help both shop owners and
technicians better understand this growing service area.

One-night seminar devoted to using techniques learned in other seminars to repair OBD
emission failures. OBD testing will be reviewed and actual case studies will be used to help
understand the strategies used to repair emission failures. Computerized information systems
and enhanced functions in aftermarket and factory scan tools will be illustrated to make
diagnosing OBD repair easier.

This one-night seminar will introduce the newer Controller Area Network (CAN)
communication system found on late model vehicles and cover problems and solutions for
setting readiness monitors to “complete” on OBD vehicles. CAN system types and tools will
be discussed for the Big 3 manufacturers. Rejected vehicles have become a major issue on
retests. This seminar will address the most common problems of why monitors don’t set to
ready and how to diagnose & fix the problems.
