IDES Crisis Management and Response Strategy

Notification
The manager of the IDES General Services Division will notify the following individuals by telephone of
an emergency that requires evacuation of an IDES worksite. If possible, the notification will include at
least a preliminary estimate of the time the worksite was or will be rendered inactive.
• IDES Director (or designee)
• IDES Chief of Staff (or designee)
• IDES Executive Deputy Director – Programs (or designee)
• IDES Executive Deputy Director – Service Delivery (or designee)
• CMS Leasing and Property Management
• Property owner/manager of affected worksite
Other Functions
The IDES Crisis Management and Response Plan also contains provisions and procedures for:
• Alerting IDES senior management of an impending formal request to close a IDES worksite,
• Notifying the Governor’s Office, CMS, the Illinois State Police, Illinois Emergency Management
Agency, and affected partners’ and senior management as appropriate and necessary,
• Notifying affected employees’ personal emergency contacts of circumstances and where to
obtain additional information,
• Arranging for the issuance of press information to the media ,
• Communicating office closure information to clients and the general public,
• Obtaining assistance and support from other state, county, and municipal agencies, as
appropriate and necessary,
• Requiring managers to re-deploy supervisory and line personnel to other functioning offices,
• Notifying appropriate collective bargaining unit representatives of circumstances pursuant to
the terms and conditions of the collective bargaining agreements,
• Communicating responsibilities and duties to IDES personnel assigned to remain at the affected
worksite,
• Resuming business operations, including:
o Maintaining payroll operations and IDES human resource functions,
o Notifying affected IDES personnel of re-deployment duties and responsibilities in
accordance with applicable personnel codes, and provisions of collective bargaining
agreements.
