In the summer of 1930 the "board of trustees decided that the library "was too congested, as at that time only the south half of the second floor of the City Hall was used.
Miss Anna Price of Library Extension; was asked to come to Dundee to confer with the board and librarian, Miss Buckley, regarding taking over the north half for a children's department. She suggested that the Library Bureau be asked to send out a man to submit blue prints and prices for equipment. A Mr. Bean came out and his plans were carried out. They included shelving on all three walls, three new tables and chairs; one a round table - a magazine table and bench, a magazine file and a desk. The walls
and floor were done over and new lights installed.
During this time Miss Anna Beu, Helen Wickham and Mae Wilber served consecutively as assistants to Miss Buckley; Miss Wilber the last one mentioned coming in the year 1933. Also Miss Matilda Willig was employed on a W. P. A. project: that of checking the fil
