An early view of the lumber warehouse of the Libertyville Lumber Company, located on First Street. The lumber company began operation in 1903. According to an article in the Independent Register, June 26, 1986, the lumber company "was situated on a spur of the Milwaukee Road [Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul Railroad] so that lumber, coal and feed could be delivered swiftly to the yard. The original buildings consisted of a feed mill and a lumber warehouse. A third building located at Church Street later became a mill shop."
