Know ye, That James McElhose a Private of Captain William Onness[?] Company (C,) 19th Regiment of Illinois Infantry Volunteers, who was enrolled on the Seventeenth day of June one thousand eight hundred and Sixty One to serve Three years or during the war, is hereby Discharged from the service of the United States this Ninth day of July 1864, at Chicago Ill by reason of Expiration of term of service. Said James McElhose was born in the State of New Jersey, is Twenty Four years of age. Five feet nine 1/2 inches high, Dark complexion, Dark eyes, Black hair, and by occupation, when enrolled, a Mechanic. Given at Chicago Ill this Nineth day of July 1865. Charles C.
