Description
Highland Park Pavilion shown here with street car tracks that circled in front of the pavilion . In 1835 Francis C . Moore , partner of John Tillson , built a house (then two miles from Quincy) on what was then known as "Moore's Mound " later known as Highland . In 1871 this tract was divided and placed on sale by a group headed by Lorenzo Bull , with one section suggested as Highland Park . The first owner may have been Henry Hugg , bartender at the Tremont Hotel , with Geo . K . Hall leasing the Park House at the park in June 1872 . At a later date , A.C . Bickhaus purchased the park with Henry Gredell as first manager and Col . Henry Breinig later . Gredell built the stone pavilion and Breinig erected rides and built the swimming pool . The park closed in the early twenties . BW Exterior 7 " x 5 ".
