No.l Wilson Hef August 29,1833 Burglary Received the body of Wilson Hef in the penitentiary,sentenced to three years confinement at hard labour, at the Greene County Circuit Court on the. 27th day of August 1833 for Burglary. Said Hef is about sixteen years old, five feet seven and one half inches high, stout made, dark hair and dark eyes. Pardoned by the Gov. and discharged March 17th 1835- No. 2 James Hyatt. September 25,1833 Larceny Received the body of James Hyatt in the penitentiary, sentenced to thirteen months confinement at head labour, at the Sangamon Circuit Court on the 12th day of Sept. 1833, for Larceny. Said Hyatt is five feet 9 1/2 inches high, well made, dark hair, dark eyes and about thirty years of age and very talkative. Made his escape Oct. 16th 1833. No. 3 James Mitchel. September 25, 1833 Manslaughter Received in the penitentiary the body of James Metchel a black man, about forty years old five feet 8 inches high. Sentenced to hard labour for manslaughter, one year in the penitentiary at the Monroe Circuit Court on the 14th day of Sept. 1833. Discharged Sept. 14th 1834. No. 4 William Taylor. December 4,1833 Counterfeiting Received the body of William Taylor in the penitentiary at Alton. Said Taylor is five feet 9 inches high, slender made, very bald headed and about seventy seven years old. Says he has been a soldier in the revolution. Sentenced for one year from the 12th day of Nov.1833 for counterfeiting, ten days of which he is to be put in solitary confinement. Discharged Nov. 12, 1834. No. 5 Isaac M. Lewis March 22,1834 Received the body of Isaac M. Lewis in the penitentiary, said Lewis is five feet 11 3/4 inches high, stout made, dark hair and dark blue eyes. Left forefinger crooked at the first joint and small at the end, which appears to be from a wound. He is about thirty five years of age and sentenced to one year confinement from the 10th day of March 1834. One fourth of which time to Solitary Confinement, at the Galatin County Circuit Court. Served out his time and discharged March 10th 1835.
