By 1920, it was clear that machine milking was here to stay, and the economics of demand and supply offered a great opportunity to anyone who could provide an efficient, reliable, reasonably priced, mechanical milking machine.
This one apparently worked ... to judge by the amount of milk the salesman was able to get by means of a hand pump. This old poster by an unknown artist gives a fairly accurate picture of how the first milking machines were sold.
