WITH THE AMERICAN EXPEDITIONARY FORCE Aug 29th 191 8 Dear Mother , how are you and Pa and Charlie I am O.K . never felt better in my life I suppose you think that I had long forgotten you but I haven’t . I have just been so busy that I couldn’t find time to do hardly anything . And I suppose that you and Pa worried about me , but you know what I told you “don’t worry” for you know things are different then they were in the States mail service is not quite as good as it is over there. I haven’t had a letter since I have been here, but we are located for a while now I guess I will get my mail in a few days I suppose . We have been moving around so much that my mail [Page 1 : Reverse] hasn’t had time to catch up . Well mother there is not bunch to write except that I am O.K . and think of home everyday . I hope that I will be back there with you before long . Say how are you and Maud getting along alright I hope , does she come down very often ? Well Mother I have heard from Clarence for a long time , is her over here or is he still at Fort . Well I guess I will close for this time as there is nothing else to write and I want to write Sis a little note so I will bid you Good Bye with Love and Kisses to all from Your Loving Son Pvt C . A.
