The second called: out "Good morning, Father Isaac," whilst the third greeted him with "Good morning, Father Jacob." The old man looked at them for a moment and then replied: "You are quite mistaken, for I am not Abraham, or Isaac, or even Jacob, but I am Saul, the son of Kish, and I am seeking my father's asses, and behold! I have found all three." TO ADVOCATE WORLD JEWISH CONGRESS Conference of New York Jewish Or-ganizations Will Organize Ameri-can Jewish Congress Council. New York.-The first step in the direction of preparing the Jews of America for participating in the pro-posed World Jewish Congress for Pal-estine will be taken at a conference of all New York Jewish organizations to be held on Sunday afternoon, No-vember 26, at the Hias building, 425 Lafayette street. This conference is called by the American Jewish Con-gress, of which Nathan Straus is pres-ident. It is expected that about 500 or-ganizations will take part in this con-ference. Dr. Stephen S. Wise, chair-man of the executive committee of the American Jewish Congress, Nathan Straus, Judge Aaron J. Levy, Joseph Barondess, Judge Louis D. Gibbs and other leaders of the Congress move-ment in America will be present to address the conference. As a result of this gathering, there will be or-ganized a council of New York Jewish organizations, which in co-operation with the American Jewish Congress will assume charge of the propaganda for the World Jewish Congress. Similar conferences and mass meet-ings are being called in a number of large cities throughout the country, for the purpose of educating the American Jew to the need of a World Jewish Congress. The official call sent out by the American Jewish Congress to the New York Jewish organizations, reads in part as follows: The recurrence of anti-Semitic out-breaks in European lands, sometimes accompanied by massacres and the persistent violation of the rights of our brethren in Eastern Europe, dem-onstrate clearly the need of maintain-ing a strong American Jewish Con-gress to speak and act for American Jewry, and to be constantly on the watch to protect the interests of our people. The distinct gains which the Jews of America have achieved through the medium of the American Jewish Con-gress in the form of treaties guarantee-ing the rights of our brethren abroad, are constantly in danger of being lost. Governments, which have solemnly pledged to respect and safeguard the rights of their Jewish citizens, are in manyiun stnes failing to oserve bth pledges. Discriminations abroad and anti- Semitic attacks at home make it neces-sary to summon the Jewish forces in America and to centralize them in the Am erican Jewish Congres so thatxte that influence with governments and statesmen and public opinion which would preserve the victories won at geat cost ford our sufferinge brethren sped of te proaada ofracial hatred among us here at home. The making of Palestine into a Jewishhomeland is now the task of all Jews, and the recent Zionist con-ference at Carlsbad has. decided in favorof callinga World Jewish Con-gress, which is to become the instru-ment for rousing all Jews to share in the upbuilding of Palestine. The American Jewish Congress has long expressed -itself in favor of a Jewish World Congress, and being a general Jewish body not involved in partisan strife, is in a position to mobilize sentiment for the World Congress and to rally for the movement all Jewish forces. His Goal Won. "You have no ambition," complained his young wife. "Not now," he replied indolently. "You never did have any." Can you be happy with a twinge in your foot here, a cramp there, a numbness in your great toe, an insufferable feeling of weight on your arches, a general all-tired-out feeling from foot trouble? Of course, you can't. Test it out for your-self. The dance; the play; the country walk; the joy of buying those new frocks; the pleas-ant anticipation of a holiday-all can be gloomed by foot discomfort. But, by wearing the Cantilever Shoe you escape all of the discom-forts brought on by ill-fitting shoes; you build foot strength and beauty because the curved flexible arch, like the arch of your own foot, permits free exercise of the muscles; you promote better cir-culation by giving every part of your foot sufficient room and by properly fitting and supporting it at all points; you enjoy life more because your feet are really comfortable. Buy a pair tomorrow and see how much shoes can add to your happiness. Cantilever Shoe Shop LOOP STORE-30 E.
