BERLIN, Sept. 30.-(Jewish Tele-graphic
Agency)-German Jewry is
now facing one of the most severe
crises in its history.
Reports from Munich state that the
anti-Semitic agitation has now reached
an unprecedented climax. Posters are
to be seen throughout the city con-demning
Jews and urging violence on
them. The propaganda is continuous.
Dr. Van Kahr, the new military dic-tator,
is himself no friend of the Jews.
In the event, however, the present
regime falls and Hitler succeeds to
power, it is taken for granted that the
Jews of Germany will be visited by
the most severe persecution in the his-tory
of the country.
SUCCOTHS SET AFIRE BY BAVA-RIAN
HOOLIGANS
BERLIN, Oct. 2 (Jewish Telegraphic
Agency) - Many "succoths" were
set fire to and windows in synagogues
smashed by hooligans according to re-ports
received from Munich.
BERLIN JEWS RECEIVE THREAT-ENING
LETTERS
BERLIN, Oct. 2.- (Jewish Tele-graphic
Agency)-A large number of
Jews of Berlin's west side have re-ceived
letters threatening them with
death if they do not leave Germany
within 14 days. The letters are capped
with a drawing of a skeleton and bear
the inscription "Propaganda . Bund."
The police are investigating.
LEAVING GERMANY IN MASSES
Emigration From Bavaria Particularly

BERLIN, Oct. 2.-(Jewish Tele-graphic
Agency)-Large numbers of
Jews, especially those from Russia, are
departing in masses for other parts of
Europe on accourt of the steadily
growing pressure of anti-Semitism and
the difficult economic conditions in-duced
by the fall of the mark.
The majority are heading for Aus-tria
and France where living is now
cheaper than in Berlin.
A considerable number, too, are
seeking to return to Russia, believing
that the new economic policy of the
Soviet will make it possible for them
to earn a living there. Dr. Fridjhof
Nansen is negotiating with the Soviet
authorities in an effort to facilitate
the return of these.
The exodus of Jews from Germany
is particularly large in Bavaria on
account of the intense anti-Semitism
there.
AMERICAN FIGHTS ANTI-SEM-ITES-
MOB SEEKS
VENGEANCE
BERLIN, Oct. 1.-(Jewish Tele-graphic
Agency)-A mob of twenty
anti-Semites sought to break into the
room of a hotel at Huschaid, Bavaria,
occupied by Leo Koral, an American
Jew.
During the afternoon, Koral quar-reled
and came to blows with a
Bavarian on account of .the latter's
remarks of Jews.
Following the fight, when Koral re-tired
to his room, a mob drew up at
the hotel. They were dispersed by the
police. Koral was later arrested on
a charge of having made derogatory
remarks about the Bavarian Govern-ment.
He was released on $50 bail.
VON KAHR ORGAN ASSAILS JEWS
MUNICH, Oct. 4 (J. T. A.)-No ar-rests
have been made in the case of
the hooligans who broke into a syna-gogue
some days ago and attacked the
worshippers, despite protests made by
representatives of the community at
the time.
The "Voelkischer Beobachter",
which is believed to have become the
organ of Von Kahr, the Bavarian dic-tator,
in a recent issue declares that
the time has come when the Germans
must rid themselves of Jewish domina-tion
"and end the Jewish 'Marxism'
and stock exchange tricks by which
the Jews caused the fall of the mark."
RUSSIAN MONARCHISTS PUT
SPIES ON TRAIL OF JEWS
IN GERMANY
BERLIN, Oct. 3 (Jewish Telegraphic
Agency) - The impetus given to
the monarchist movement in various
parts of Germany is reflected in the
Russian monarchist circles here as
well.
Two of the Russian leaders, Markoff
and Tolmatchoff, have organized an
espionage bureau whose function will
be to list all Jews in Germany sus-pected
of Bolshevistic sympathies. The
Russians expect to make use of the
list in event the German monarchists
are sucessful.
They hope then to wreak their ven-geance
on these Jews and in particular
to prevent any of those who may be
so inclined from rendering any assist-ance
to the Bolshevist regime in
Russia.
"KEHILLAS" THREATENED WITH
EXTINCTION BY FALL OF
MARK
BERLIN, Oct. 3 (Jewish Telegraphic
Agency) - The Jewish "Kehillas"
and communal institutions of Germany
are threatened with total extinction
as the result of the fall of the mark.
Under the present depreciated value
of the German currency the Kehillas
are finding it impossible to pay the
employes and officials of the com-munity
institutions.
Meanwhile the government has
slightly alleviated the plight of some
by giving a few of the larger Kehillas
greater subventions than heretofore.
SWISS-JEWISH COMMITTEE OR-GANIZED
TO AID KEHILLAS
IN GERMANY
ZURICH, Oct. 3 (Jewish Tele-graphic
Agency) - A Swiss-Jewish
committee has been organized here to
help relieve the conditions of German
Kehillas now in distress.
SENTENCED FOR VIOLATING
ANTI-SCHECHITA LAW
ZURICH, Oct. 3 (Jewish Tele-graphic
Agency)-A local "shochet,"
Blitz, has been sentenced to ten days'
imprisonment for violating the anti-
Schechita law.
The Jewish community is highly
aroused over this action of the court.
