Brown, chairman of the Board of Finance, has just launched an inten-sive effort to secure funds for the various activities of the organization. In a special appeal issued to officers of the Union and its affiliated bodies, the National Federation of Temple Sisterhoods and National Federation of Tetnple Brotherhoods, to rabbis and officers of the various congregations affiliated with the iUnion. Mr. Brown urged immediate action for the secur-ing of financial aid. "''We can't be an important factor in American life without paying for it,". he declares in his announcement. "What excuse have we for remaining Jews unless the world is better for it? We can't function without funds." MIDNIGHT FROLIC TO BE UNIQUE A midnight program will be given on Saturday, May 7, which promises to be different in every respect from the usual thing. The best of Chi-cago's artists in the field of instru-mental and vocal music, drama and dancing have rallied to the cause. The Senate theatre at Madison and Kedzie has been given at this occasion. The evening will begin promptly at 12 o'clock with a classical program. Reservations may now be made. The proceeds will go towards the Palestine pioneers. SUCCESS CONSISTS IN THE CLIMB And you can't begin to climb at the top of the ladder, you must start at the bottom. You must watch your step. Climb slowly and remember your friends. Don't cast them aside, but always keep them in mind. So brighten up and freshen up with a Murad cigarette and then begin to climb the ladder which will lead you to success.
