Ladies Montefiore Charity Society No. 1-Installation of officers and birthday was celebrated Sunday, Janu-ary 12, at 2:30 p. m., at the Capitol building, Room 512. The installing officers were Sara F. Blumberg, past president; Jennie Seelig, marshall and Anna Levy, chaplain. The following were installed: Bertha Pollack, presi-dent; Sophie Mizenberg, vice president; Birdie Morris, financial secretary; Rose Goodman, recording secretary; Rose Posner, treasurer; Rose Gossel, first trustee; Eva Danziger, second trustee; Fayne Lobler, third trustee; Rose Granat, guard; and Lillie Sonnenshein, marshall. A fine program was ar-ranged by Miss Leah Helfet. Those participating in the program were Shirley Pollock, Alice Pathman, Miss Gilbert, Marks Sisters; Helen Seelig, Milton Gossel, Miss Sonnensheim, and Miss Weiler. The flag bearers were Joe and Theodore Pollock and Mr. Mizenberg. Refreshments were served. The monthly meeting will be held Wednesday, January 22, at 1:30 p. m., at the regular meeting place. Smart Social Set-A pirate ball and dance will be held Saturday, January 18, at 8:30 p. m., in the Pompeian Room of the Logan Square Masonic Temple, 2451 North Kedzie avenue. This is the first of a series of dances, socials and entertainment to be given by the organization. It is not a couple affair. Lawn Manor Sisterhood-A general meeting will take place on Wednesday, January 22, at 2 p. m. An unusual program has been arranged by Mrs. William Frankel. There will be bridge, community singing and refreshments. A special dinner will be given January 29. Mrs. M. L. Kalfen is in charge. Dinner will be served from 5 to 8. Lawn Manor Community Center- Karl Borders will speak on "The Rus-sian Revolution in the Second Decade," Wednesday, January 22. Mr. Borders has visited Russia about five times in the last ten years, and has just re-turned this month from a prolonged stay in that country. The musical pro-gram which follows will be furnished by Miss Fanita Blum, pianiste. Re-freshments and discussion follow the lecture. The sixth annual dance will take place in the Auditorium, 6641 South Troy street, on Saturday eve-ning, February 15. Mr. R. Rose and Mrs. William Frankel are co-chairmen of the dance.
