"The Curriculum for Jewish Re-ligious Schools" by Rabbi Alter F. Landesman is ready for- distribution. . This work, which has taken a number of years to prepare and has been passed upon by many educational authorities in this country, will prove of great help to every type of Jewish religious school existing today. The book provides four distinct .courses of study, to correspond to the different kinds of schools at present in operation. Course A provides for schools that give about six and a half hours of instruction per week; Course B for schools having only about four and a half hours of instruction per week; Course C is a two-years' course for children who enter school at the age of eleven; and Course D for schools giving only two hours' instruc-tion per week. Course A can also be used in schools that meet every day, or five times a week. In an extensive introduction, some concrete and helpful suggestions are offered for the organization and man-agement of the school, both omits physical and spiritual sides, and throughout the book hundreds of help-, ful devices are offered to teachers and principals which will be of inestimable value to them.
