A.)-Trans-jordania, separated from Palestine by the new agreement between Emir Abdullah and the British government, will soon have a legislative council. The Council is to be composed of 24 members. Twenty of this number are to be elected by the population, while the four others will be members of the government. The elections will take place in April, it was stated. 1---- I N 49 NOTES .GE JOEL eight round trips of the pool are the equivalent of fifteen miles. A rather large number of the entries were Jewish boys and although titles were scarce the boys proved that they could use their hands for something else than turning the pages of books. SOCCER The new Jewish game called soccer has been getting a shabby deal in this column the past month or so. There just hasn't been anything to say. The American Soccer League season has been going its stolid but scrappy way without any aid from this personal column. The Brooklyn Wanderers have jumped up into fourth place, while the New York Soccer Giants are entrenched in eighth position. The lowest Vanderweighs team has sunk this year. The last match played be-tween these two teams resulted in a victory for the Giants, 3-2. It was the first victory scored by the Giants in the last four starts and revenged the beating they took from the Wan-derers a week ago. Of course, it was a rough game-they always are. Eisenhoffer, the inside left of the Wanderers, was carried from the field, but not before he had booted a goal between the uprights. Of the five goals scored four of them came from the feet of Jewish players, Gruenwald scoring two, Molnar one and Eisen-hoffer the other. What would soccer be without Hakoah. Both the B and C teams of the New York Hakoah Club won matches against opponents, in league game. I haven't heard much about the A team, but the club has certainly been successful and active on the soc-cer field this past season. The Ninety-second street Y. M. H. This mark has never before been equalled by a Jewish team.
