Dear brother,
As your Sister and brother has been writing to you and I thought that I would write a few lines to you but you must excuse me for not writing to you before this time but I don't know but what I have written as often to you as you have to me but it does not make any difference who writes the most. They have told all the news round about here Ma is a baking she and Mrs Kerr went to Mr Hughes yesterday and left Francis and me alone and we almost tore the house down It is very lonesome without Tomey he is as big as big again as when you went away from home if you should meet him alone you would not know what little fellow it was he has burnt him real bad and he is quite cross I guess you have forgotten him for you don't say much about him Leida and Charley have parted and he says that he shall take the baby away in a little while he is a working at Mr Hughes and is a going to for six months if nothing happens They have got a teacher here for this summer her name is Miss Nelson we have not herd when schooll will commence I hope that you will get home time enough to tell oxes how to fis(?) the door yard and if you will come home soon you may sit in a chair for a month and not do any thing but talk and I will not growl a bit at you but if you dont I will be after you with the broomstick I could not tell you how I would like to see you but as they are in a hury I must draw to a close you said that you would talk about my writing but I have not seen any of it yet but you must excuse it this time for I have not wrote a half a dozen times since the writing school stoped so I bid you good by and hope to see you before a great while from your affectionate sister Jannett Minto PS Feet is a noun it is common neuter gende, third person singular number or independent case to eclipses according to rule fourth I have no more time to write at present give my respects to all
