The Lioness gsve the chedi to the Legion in thanks for the use of their hall for Playnight and for their monthly meetings. Previously the Lioness Club hsd given S2S0 to the Legion to help defray the costs for the air conditioning. The Lioness Club has also donated SSO to the Deaf-Blind School; $42S for the Senior Citizen Christmas Diimer; $3S to Care; SSOO to Eye Research and SiOO to Lions flf BUnois. FFA mtEAKFAST t -^ John Spears received the winning medal in the American Legion Oratorical Contest held on January 22 to determine the Legion representative from Huntey High School. Chris Pupich, runner-up, received a special citation. Shown with John and Chris ar« Mr. Robert Schultz, Americanism Chairman, and Miss Lorraine Lid, English Teacher, who jointly organized the high school contest. Mr. Schultz and Miss Lid would like to thank the following individuals who made the local contest a success: John and Chris, for the excellent job they did with their orations; Mrs. May Chesak, Mr. C. William Leggee, Mrs. Jan Crabill, who judged the contest; Mabel Schultz and Richard Enstrom, timekeepers forthe event; and students of the Honors English class who provided refreshments for a social hour fbllowing the contest.
