Water fights will take place on Coral Street at 1 p.m. The above pictures show the winners of la.st year's water fights and on^' thr matches iw^tween the children. School Report Schools are busy but the childron are gone. The classrooms have no ohildrtn but the ciistodiai .staff is cleaning lights, ceilings, walls and waxing floors. Desks receive a thor¬ ough cleaning before they are lineJ up in the nxm awaiting studente to use them again for the first day of th3 new school year August 2.'i. Before the custodial staff com¬ pletes the summer chores, doors will be varnished, walls painted, roofs iiepaired. and windows washed. In the office's Administrators and secretaries are preparing orders in preparation for tiie new year. Trucks unload saipplies which n\ust be checked against orders and distri¬ buted. Bills must be prepared for payment at the next board meeting. School buses are being repaired and checked to insure passing the semi-annual safety check. Persooal to fill vacancies must be selected before the school bell rings again in the fall. Intermingled with a preparations is the completion of the end of the year reports dealing with student attendance, transportation, vocation¬ al education and the lunch itx»n. The schools are busy even thiouigh school is out and it is vacation time. June Fire Report The ni:;nt,li of June was reasoniabiy quiet for the Huntley Fire Depart¬ ment. She wias iiequesdng a full year leave of absence for personal reasons. A mo- carried 4 ayes and 2 nays. Mrs. Saiipson and Mr. ZiHer oaBted the nay votes. Mr. Mairtcs recommended thtat Lu¬ cille Koch once again be given the duty of ddstriot ttresurer for a two- yoar term. Her saflary woudd be $625.00 per year. A motion was made by Mr. Bond and seoooded by Mr^. Simpson to apptant her as the distriot treasurer. The mWdon cffl"- ried all ayes Next on the agenda was substitute teadier salaries. Tliese satories have remaned at $25.00 a day since the fall of 1968. It was reoonunended by Mr. Marks that tf»is be changed to $30.00 a day. A motion was n>ade by Mrs. Jones and seconded by Mrs. SSmpson to change these salaries to $30.00 per day. The motion car¬ ried 5 ayes and 1 naiy with Mr. Ruth casting a nay vote.
