Capping ceremony is scheduled: Freshmen students at the Graham Hospital School of Nursing will receive their caps in the school’s traditional; Capping Exercise to be held at the Wesley United Methodist Church, 120 N. Avenue A, at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Special guest speaker will be William Wilson, an instructor of Biology at Spoon River College. His speech is titled, “Before You Can Help Others.” Another highlight of the program is the Otto and Eveleta Meier Scholarship presentation. Nine students will be presented for capping by the director of the school, Sheryl J. Samuelson. Class members are: Marcena Burkhead, Teresa Stephens, Kathryn Price and Shelly Tourtillott, all from Canton; Angela Hardesty from Havana; Tammy McAvoy and Colleen Hilgenberg both of Avon; Tonya Wethington from Lewistown; and Debra Goven from Kilbourne. Rosemary Rose, Level II Instructor, is the Class Advisor. A reception will follow the program with students serving refreshments. The public is invited to attend this event.
