Burham, of "WatsonTllle, Calif., and Mlss Julia Clark, of Peoria, arrived Saturday tor a visit with relatives in Bible Orove Tp. Tbe women are sisters of Truman Clark. During the day they were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Lancaster ot this city. : Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Erwin and lit¬ tle son, Wllber Sherman, will returt this week to their home at Spear¬ vllle, Kas. They were called to Louisville last week by the death of Mr. Erwin's father, Crawford S. Er¬ win. W. B .Weeks ot Lovington, R. C. Weeks ot Lake City, Mrs. H. W. Tomey, of Dana. Ind., and Mrs. A. W. Charlton ot Roliinson, have visited Loulsvlile the past week, called to this city by the serious illness of their father. Rev. J. L. Weeks. Mr. Weeks is reported better at this time, and Mrs. Charlton remains with him. Mrs. W. A. Qoodenough and son, Stantord lett Saturday }n their car for a islt with triends in Champaign and Onarga. Mesdames S. B. Moore and T. S. Williams as representatives ot tbe Woman's Club ot Louisville, attend¬ ed the district meeting ot the federat¬ ed club ot this, the 24th;district, held at Carmi on Tuesday ot this week. Mrs. Rena 'Woods,ot St. Louis, is here spending the week with her mother, Mrs. Rachel Sullivan and sister, Daisy. . Esq. Holaday and E. W. Seller motored to Flora Monday, on busi¬ ness bent. Miss Ada Holaday, from Cbam - paign, Is at home for a tew days' va¬ cation. The committee selected by Supt. Brewer—Messrs. .Chas. Oarland, Jacob Warren and J. L. McDaniel— to grade the final examination papers for the 7th and Sth public schools grades tor Clay county, closed - its work Monday. 105 passed in 7th year work, 46 passed in Sth year work, and 84 will be given a chance to re-write May 21th in the 7th year, and 7 in the Sth year. Tbis makes 161 who passed In both grades, and 91 who may re-wrlte out of a total ot 400 who took final examination. Judge and Mrs. Ben Hagle are spending this week in Chicago. Mrs. Hagle is the- representative ot this district's order ot the White Shrine of Jerusalem, and Is attending the annual meeting ot tbls order in that city this week. Mrs. D. Peavier, of Mt. Vernon, Ben's sister, bas charge of the home place and is looking af¬ ter the chickens during their ab¬ sence. The pastor bas been unable to make many calls during her absence be¬ cause of the pressure of other work, but hopes to take up all regular work Tuesday the 24th. The splendid co-operation ot our people tn the Daily Bible reading has warmed the heart of the pastor. It ^s tar beyond his fondest hopes and even his wildest dreams. Be ye well assured that Hla word shall'not re¬ turn to Him void, but shall accom¬ plish the purpo«e whereunto It was sent. Our Bible school is doing splendid work and both interest and attendance are good. There are many untouched but not untouch¬ able. Let UB all exert a stronger ef¬ fort than we have heretofore exerted. One out of every four is not strong tor our various school to reach. We should have one halt the popula¬ tion of Flora in the varlons Bible schools every Sunday, ir could be done. It can be done. Bnt only when we get a slight conception of what the Master meant when He said "Love thy neighbor as thy self". Our neighbor bas a soul. Our neighbor needs Salvation as much as we do.. Has he got UT I wonder why? Did It ever occur to you that his neigh¬ bor is to blame? Think a minute.
