A few months ago many people thought this chureh was dead, but It does not act very much like a, corpes now. In fact It seems to be very much alive. Rev. Miller and wife arrived ia Flora laat week and took possession of our newly ren¬ ovated paraonage. The church ed¬ ifice Is being treated to a coat of paint and the Ladlea Aid Society is seeking bids for the frescoing ot t^ interior.
The organ builder, Max Range, of Quincy, overhauled the pipe organ, and suld that It was a very fine or¬ gan.
The church and S. S. picnh: held on Wedneaday of thts wek was a most enjoyable outing, affording an opportunity for the pastor and his wife to become better acquainted with our people.
On last Sunday Rev. Miller gave us two very able sermons. In the morning he pointed out the lesson of taith and obedience we may learn froai the fall of Jericho, reminding US that the centuries of Christian acbievment by the Presbyterian church in the paat and the hundred miillon members at present should encourage us in redoubled efforts to break down the fortifications of sin In onr midst. At night he drew valuable spiritual lessons from the recent -noted boat race on Peoria lake. At the morning service Mlas Hemmick ^ng a, fine solo, Fred Dykins presiding at the organ.
