Feb. 4th, 1921 is your last chance to get your Victory Medal withut any red tape, a representative from the Adjutant General's Office Wash¬ ington, D. C. wlll be on duty at the City Hall for the purpose of taking your application, he will only be here fbr one day, and every service man wants to see him before he gets away. It Is not necessary for the ^-«ex-servlce man to apply himself, he •\ may let his mother, ftther or sister apply, and you did not'liave to serve overseas to obtain a Medal.
In case a mother or father had a son to die while in the service or who died after .leaving the service the next of kin to the deceased man may apply for his Medal, but If the deceased man was married at the time of his death, his wife must make application.
Alk applicants must bring their Original Dscharge papers with them, _ these discharges will be held by the representatives for fnur days, so that proper awards wll be made to :. eacb man. There Is no danger what .. ever of the papers being loat, for the men assigned to the Army Recruit¬ ing Station in Springfield, to do this work have handled 16000 original discharges in the last two months, and have not misplaced a single one. But If you sleep in room No. 13, and you are superstitious do not apply. Open until 8.00 p. m.

P. B. Heln and William Stockier^ have returned from Eldorado, Ark., where they visited the new oil gush¬ er which was brought in there" re¬ cently. The gusher. It Is claimed, makes 30,000 barrels per day. Be¬ fore It was put under control, Mr. Heln says, it spouted 176 feet into the air. Oil sprays were blown and drifted across the surrounding coun try for a great distance. Now, he says, trees and other objects are covered with It, giving the country the appearance that a sleet storm gives the landscape here.r—Mt. Car¬ mel Republican-Register. •
