Description
Corporal Overstreet was the photographer and radioman for the Headquarters Radio Unit of the 252nd Field Artillery Battalion . This unit landed on Omaha Beach in France on October 9 , 1944 . They traveled by foot through France and Belgium to cross the Roer and Rhine Rivers into Germany by November of 1944 as part of the Ninth Army . They spent the rest of 1944 and 1945 marching across Germany with several units in the hopes of taking Berlin . Cpl . Overstreet took this photo of Albert J . Grant under camoflage with a machine gun , somewhere in Germany , 1945 . Original photograph size : 2.51 in (h) x 3.75 in (w) .
