SHAVING ILLEGAL DURING JUBILEE
Barbers in Chicago Ridge
will be able to take it easy
this summer, if action by
the village board of trustees
means anything.
The officials, garbed in
false beards, last week pass-ed
an ordinance making it un-lawful
to shave during the
Village's 50th anniversary
celebration June 27th to
July 5th.
The ordinance also pro-hibits
the use of motor ve-hicles
between 1 and 7 p. m.
Sunday, June 28. Horse-drawn
taxis will be provid-ed
to transport villagers,
according to Jubilee Chair-man
robert Scanlan, 10930
S. Parkside.
" One of the nicest things
about the Jubilee," Scan-lan
said, " is that almost
everything will be free."
In order to provide most
of the Jubilee features at
no cost to the public, the
committee will launch a Boo-ster
Button Campaign to fin-ance
portions of the cele-bration.
