About this collection

The Illinois Valley Local History Collection is the work of a group of small public libraries in north central Illinois. These libraries are dedicated to the preservation and access of their rich local history materials. Examples of some of the subjects covered in these collections include: the Illinois & Michigan canal; Starved Rock State Park; and the Western Clock Company (later Westclox).
