PLAN AND DEVELOPMENT FOR CAMPTON TOWNSHIP [3/22/1976]
Campton Township is witnessing significant growth and is faced
with the prospect of being engulfed by the urbanization from the expancing St. Charles area as well as the metropolitan area of Chicago. The intent of this report is to offer the and/or suggestions to realistical-ly control the rapid growth that is being experienced to Campton Township and to highlight cconsiderations for the citizenry and the Kane County Development Department.
This report is also intended to serve as a guide for the future physical growth and development of the Campton Township area. The report is purpose-fully general in nature, although it does express specific personal feelings of the citizenry presently residing there.
From all the suggestions made by the citizenry present at planning meetings, the primary concers are to maintain a rural setting for the com-munity and to wisely utilze the present land as development commences.
It is assumed that as the community continues to increase in size, due to the development of the land, various small businesses and industries will appear to provide the neoessary services for the people. Such businesses, although needed and desired, might modify the current rural atmosphere. Land areas adjacent to the Northwestern railroad and Routes 47 and 64 wou1d be the
expected properties for such business and industry.
