I wrote you a letter two or three days ago but thought I would write you another so as to keep them going this is the third letteri have written home from this... but i do not think you have received one yet.  I wrote in the other two that I had sent you twentyfive dollars. I presumed you have got the money by this time  I am not with the Regiment now they have fone to Holly springs is a rebel force there our boys fighting with them yesterday. drove the rebels inside of their ...works and had them surrounded so that they could not get out.  The rebels will have to do some very hard fighting or all be taken prisoners.  we have the and charleston railroad all in repair so that trains runin from Corinth to  is the greatest country i have been in in all our travels most of the farmers will throw their sower and sweet milk away before they will sell to any of our triips and what we do get have so seventy and 80 cts for a $2.25 for flour $18.00 perbarel I bought one dozzen of Bisquick pried  per lb sugar twenty twenty-fiveevery thing is to the highest.  Books from twtnty to twenty-five dollars shoes eight dollars  So you can see what the war has done for this State I gess I have written all the news as I recall It is getting dark I can hardly see so must give my love to all and send you a little southern money not confederate money more often.
