The base glaze is white. Around the rim of the pitcher are paointed red and blue stripes. Three silver stars are painted on either side of the rim, on this field of red, white & blue. On one side, in silver, is painted F.D.R. On the opposite side, painted in silver is 1932 / 36 / 40 The top and inside of the rim, the entire spout, and the face of the handle are painted in metallic gold. Metallic gold also cicles the base. Under the spout, an eagle, wings spread, bears a shield of red, white and blue; one claw grasps three arrows, the other a lightening bolt. There are two sets of writing. One, in black, reads HM / 150 The other, in a metallic gold paint, I cannot read.
