VACATION AT HOME! What with travel difficulties and gas rationing, many families are spending their first vacations at home in many years and the huge polar bear above is bellowing a greeting to villagers to visit him and his many animal pals at the Brookfield Zoo. Weekday crowds at the zoo have been greater than m previous years, indicating that many families are using their vacation time to see the sights in and around Chicago for the first time; in their lives. Vacationeers can expect to spend a full day at the zoo, seeing the many animals in their rock and water homes on the vast grounds.
