BEFORE RETIRING as cadet colonel of his class at the army air forces navigation school at Hondo, Texas, and receiving the commission of a second lieutenant and the silver wings of an aerial navigator, Gerald R. Hill of Maywood (left) awarded a certificate of honorary membership in the June 24 navigation cadet graduating class to Technical Sergeant Herndon Aderhold, Jr., of Anniston, Ala., for distinguished service in "keeping 'em flying.'' Lieutenant Hill is 21 and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald R. Hill of 823 South 19th avenue.
