CLAIRE - a watercolor by James D. Dowdakin of Maywood is one of the many paintings by village artists at the 14th Annual Exhibition of paintings and sculpture by members of the Maywood Arts club, affiliated with Austin, Oak Park and River Forest Art League. The exhibit is in the social rooms of Proviso high school and will continue through Saturday evening. First prize at the showing was awarded to Miss Bee Bonine for her "El Calvario," an excellent portrayal of Mexican architecture. Second prize was given to Miss Irene Schultz for her "Iris." Exhibitors included Orval Caldwell, Mrs. Lee Earl Daniels, C. E. Hawthorne, Hildegarde Horn, Mae Kapost, Beth McEvoy, Lester Nordbrock, Laura C. Roefer, Nettie E. Siebenaler, Fannie S. Taylor, Frank J. Ulrich, John E. Whowell, Gay Brizek, Dorothy Wessen. Janet McKinley Ham and Stuart Castor.
