THREE YEARS AGO, December 7. 1941, Coxswain Victor Vertuno, son of Mrs. Anna Vertuno of 1017 North 18th avenue, Melrose Park, was a desk clerk in the Melrose Park police department. Today, he is collecting Jap souvenirs on Saipan, where he fought with the invasion forces, and is now stationed. Included in the trophies he has sent home are a canteen, Nipponese family album, helmet, robe, a chart of American planes, rice bowl and sticks, and cigarettes with holder. (See page 5)
