SEINING FISH and other aquatic life in the lagoon behind Trailside museum in Thatcher woods with Dr. David H. Thompson are, from the left, Geraldine Morrocco, Paul Cole and Jack Marneigh, sixth grade pupils of Melrose Park school who were selected together with their classmates to participate in a series of science trips in the Forest preserves of Cook County. The seining of fish is only one example of the various activities in which the children engage on the trips. Under supervision of Dr. Thompson, with transportation furnished by the Forest Preserve department, they visit wild-life refuges, tree nurseries and other places of Interest. On the excursions they are given opportunities to fish and band ducks. The tours were arranged through the cooperation of Roberts Mann, superintendent of conservation in the Forest Preserve department.
