THE HERALD Serving Maywood, Bellwood, Forest Park, Hillside, Westchester, Broadview, Northlake, Berkeley Proviso Class Graduated Wednesday Warn People to Conserve Water Supply (See Page 3) Stores Close at Noon on Wednesdays (See Page 3) IN MEMORY of those men who have given their lives in the service of our country, flags will be displayed in villages across the country Tuesday, May 30. At the close of the Civil War, Gen. John A. Logan, commander-in-chief of the Grand Army of the Republic, set aside May 30 as Decoration Day for the graves of Union soldiers. Later the name was changed to Memorial Day, the better to voice the feelings of those who observed it, and the holiday is now celebrated In honor of all Americans who have died in action. In Maywood a Memorial Day parade and service will be conducted on Sunday afternoon, May 28, under the direction ofthe American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
