CHRISTMAS CELEBRATIONS may seem remote, but to the wives of servicemen overseas, the mailing deadline for Yule gifts comes mighty early. Four members of the "War Wives Club," whose husbands are across, are shown above as they decorated tarlatan stocking to be filled and sent to the four corners of the world. Seated (left) are Helen Proctor of 1245 South 20th avenue and La Verne Sullivan. Standing are Doris Ekstrom (left) of the same Maywood address and L Verne Wall. Other club members unable to be present when the picture was taken are: Marguerite Furman of 18 South 16th avenue, Doris Avery, Florence MacDonald, and Erma Casey.
