AT A TIME when freedom is uppermost in the minds of
peoples all over the world, it is fitting that we Americans observe the 134th anniversary of the birth of Abraham Lincoln, who once on the battlefield of Gettysburg said, "-we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died In vain-that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom-and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the; earth . . ." The above sketch of Lincoln was done by a young Maywood artist, Raymond Reesor of 826 South 17th avenue. A graduate of Crane Tech, Ray has had no formal art education. He is the son of Mrs.
Mary E. Reesor of 133 South 6th avenue.
